Welcome! To the world of Dubman !

About Me

I always cycled more for convenience than sport. About 2 years ago i decided to cycle to get fit.My job as a storekeeper at Rolls-Royce was not particulary an active one , and i had noticed now i was in my mid 30's there was perhaps more of me than there should be. I try to cycle several times a week , weather and wife permitting , for anything up to 30 miles per session. I have done a few longer rides and my aim is to reach a 100 miler. When i have achieved this i plan to do coast to coast.

Now completed the 100 mile goal (30.5.09)

Out of interest how many of you helmet wearers , wear a helmet in a car and if not why not ? with the amount of head injurys and fatalities you would think most people would ???

PS - meant to say that if you are thinking about buying a camera, the best price for MUVI was on Amazon for just under £60 - Most places are £80+

Maybe you should add it to your Xmas wish list??

Chains stretch, for sure. A tension tool like this will show the wear, and you can find out about tensioners at Charlie the Bikemonger - the tugs / tensioners are toward the bottom of the page. Ham

I've just got a handlebar bag, so I can put my laminated maps on top for longer rides!

I believe you can share your courses, workouts and saved rides wirelessly with other Edge 705 users, but I can't comment on this as I'm the only person I know with the 705 so haven't tried it out! I also like maps and invariably carry a paper map w…

Ah-ha - so that's what was wrong with my 305! Garmin replaced though, no trouble. I confess for a fondness for paper maps, and since finding these on the Dunwich Dynamo, they are my favourite touring maps, with a map carrier velcroed to the bars.
