Isn't the technical issue whether its safer with or without, regardless of what speed the helmet happens to protect you at ? So they don't protect you at 30mph hitting a car, but they do protect you when you fall off embarrasingly when you forget to…
It's always worth being reminded of the dangers on the road but the thing is, I get rather p***d off with the media jumping on these sorts of bad news stories. When was the last time you read anything good about cycling??

It has been proved that helmets only protect the head in an accident where you or the car is traveling less than 13mph. (see CTC website). Furthermore, independent research shows that drivers actually give a wider bert…
